Dots and Flowers for a Diva...
One of the things I like so much about Ottobre Design Patterns, is how easy it is to make liberal design changes to the basic style.
This top made for my niece Bella, age 8, started with the Cross-over Top, from Ottobre Design Issue 03/04, pattern#9. I modified it by adding center-front shirring, double sleeves...and lots of "lettuce" edging. I had such fun making this simple little top !
I love the color and pattern combinations! Your niece is a lucky girl!
ReplyDeleteHow adorable! Love the lettuce edging! I thoroughly enjoyed sewing for my nieces when they were youngsters . . . now that they're in their late teens/early 20's, all they want to wear is grungewear!
ReplyDeleteSweet! You always make really lovely things for your nieces. And, you usually make complete outfits. OK--where are the pants?
ReplyDeleteGwen...yes, this top has a skirt that coordinates with another top....but I forgot to take a photo!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely adorable! You are so good at mixing prints. Don't you just love lettuce edging? Which reminds me that I have a vintage Stephen Burrows pattern around here somewhere...
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable! I love how the turquoise matches the flowers exactly. Great job!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely sweet and so very colorful. These are the types of tops I loved for my daughter when she was younger :)
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! Perfect girl wear!
ReplyDeleteOnce again, you've made me wish my little girl was 25 years younger. Adorable.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this top! All of your stuff is sooo professional looking!! Your fabric combinations always work great!
ReplyDeleteCute! Could you give some suggestions on how to get that great lettuce edge?
