A fun Dress for a Lovely Little Girl...

It was so much much fun to sew this dress for my "adopted grand-daughter" Julianna, age 4.  
I modified an Ottobre Design pattern from the 01/09 issue to make this style. 
And if spring ever arrives here near Buffalo NY, she'll be able to wear it without a top and leggings !

    Hi Pam,
    I love the dress, but my question is about a group photo of mens' patterns you posted in 2005. I've located the McCall's 5863, but you've also got a pattern in the photo that you've stated you're not really fond of. So I'm not sure. Would you recommend the McCall's 5863 or would I be better off buying an Islander Sewing pattern?
    My husband likes crisp, starched shirts, button down collars without a tie.
    I haven't made a shirt for my husband and am rather nervous.
    Sorry to post this question here, but couldn't find another way to contact you.
    If you ever create patterns for sale, I'm sure a lot of us would be very happy. :-)

    Hi Becky,

    It was McCalls M6044 that I was not fond of because it does not have a separate back yoke...not a good choice for a man who likes starched button-downs.

    Islander patterns are very good, and I also HIGHLY recommend the Men's shirt Pattern from Jalie. Jalie's shirt pattern has a range of 22 sizes and fabulously clear instructions.

    Ah this is exactly my ideal little girls summer dress, sweetly feminine but not gooey and no kiddie fabric! I love it Pam.
