DIY Sewing Machine Repair !

I found out about the Autonopedia site from a fellow member of  the Creative Machine (a Yahoo Group).  The site is jam-packed with information about cleaning, oiling, and repairing our sewing machines.  It sure seems to be a fantastic source of useful information...so I am passing it along, just FYI :)

  1. Thank you so much. This is timely. I've been having intermittent tension challenges with both my machines.

Pam, just read through the site and it is heavily mechanical Singer-based and old fashioned Singer at that; think 15-91, 201, 221 etc. That said, if you have one of those machines or a clone, the pamphlet is well illustrated and the info accurate. For the plastic and nylon machines with computers, not so good, especially the part about cleaning with kerosene, Yipe!

  5. Thanks, Pam. I've vowed to get my vintage Singer Rocketeer and Necchi Supernova in great running shape this year and this will help a lot.
