About the Author: Claire Shaeffer is an internationally respected author, lecturer, college instructor, and columnist. She has written numerous articles that have appeared in popular sewing publications, such as Vogue Pattern Magazine, Craftrends, Sew Business, Sew News, and Woman's Day. I'm happy to see your blog because I respect the little I've seen of your design and sewing abilities.
Yesterday I was reading an article about Oscar de la Renta at the NY Metro site -http://newyorkmetro.com/nymetro/shopping/fashion/spring05/11016/index1.html
What popped out at me, was the statement that he has "an ability to talk for hours about the texture of fabrics." It's amazing to have that kind of knowledge! Sometime when you are looking for a blog topic, will you talk about how you approach new fabrics? When did you start working with hemp, for example, and do you prefer it as a blend? do you have a favorite weave? Generally, it is a costlier fabric, but have you found the durability makes the cost per wear similar or better than less expensive fabrics?
I'm looking forward to adding Claire Shaeffer's book to my sewing library. I enjoy learning about all the new qualities of today's fabrics and about traditional, high quality fabrics and how to successfully use them to make fantastic clothes. Best wishes for continued success.

Pamela,

Best non-fiction technical book!

HOW COOL IS THAT!!!

I have been out of the loop for days/weeks/months/years and it is so good to see Claire's work honored...but moreover that your work is featured in it, makes it the most sweet.

Gooshy enough? I like to lay it on thick. Only difference is...I MEAN EVERY WORD.

Way to go!

Your shirts are beautiful and I hope the world gets to see more and more of them as the minutes go by. Keep up the great work...sorry I missed your announcement here and on the chat list.

Godspeed,
