Fun Designs for the Birthday Girl !
Oh how fast they grow up.....sigh......
It seems like just yesterday that I was designing little toddler dresses for my niece Willow. In a few days she will be 10 years old...it doesn't seem possible...
This set is but one of many outfits I designed and sewed for her "Birthday Wardrobe". Ten year old girls can be fickle...I hope she likes it!
The top started with an Ottobre Design pattern (from issue 01/05, style #25), that I modified adding double-sleeves, a double hem, and a wide binding strip to the neckline.
The pants started with another Ottobre Design pattern (from issue 03/03, style #23), that I modified by slimming the leg, adding a false-fly, and slightly changing the shape of the pockets.

Oh, that is so cute! I love that one shoulder look, even though it is not a true one shoulder top! Current, yet age appropriate for a 10 year old.
Willow will love this for sure!
Those are soooo cute! But don't blink because she will be 17, before you know it! :)
I just purchased my first issues of Ottobre kids' and women's--thanks to your inspiring mix of prints!
Fantastic job, she should love it.
Wonderful job and such a cute outfit for your niece!
Happy birthday to Willow!!! What a cute outfit - I know my 11 year old would LOVE it! The modifications make it just perfect!!! I swear, I can't follow a pattern to save my soul... I always have to add this, change that, etc. LOL!
Thank you so much for the inspiration!
Absolutely adorable! But how thrilled will you be when she says she only wants clothes that look like the ones in American Eagle?!
LOL Lindsay.....well...then her mother can drop her at the mall with a fist full of cash. Hopefully by then I'll have step-grandbabies to sew for!
Pam .- the set is lovely and very modern. you always have the best ideas, really.
